Kirstin von der Goltz - Violoncello|Baroque cello
Whether on the concert stage or as a teacher, working with modern and baroque instruments is equally important to cellist Kristin von der Goltz. As a solo cellist, chamber musician and artistic director of numerous concert and ensemble projects, but also as a teacher and lecturer, she is in international demand. Her musical partners have included Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Marc Minkovski, Kristian Bezuidenhout, Isabelle Faust, Gerold Huber, Dorothee Oberlinger and Hille Perl. With the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra (1991-2004) and the Berlin Baroque Soloists (since 2006), she has undertaken concert tours worldwide and recorded numerous CDs. As artistic director, she was a guest with the Norwegian orchestra “Barokkanerne Norwegian Baroque” and with L’ Accademia Giocosa. Kristin von der Goltz studied with Christoph Henkel in Freiburg and William Pleeth in London, where she played with the Hanover Band and the New Philharmonia London, among others. Today she teaches as a professor for baroque cello at the University of Music and Performing Arts Frankfurt and at the University of Music and Theater Munich. She has released highly acclaimed and well-reviewed solo CDs with the baroque cello on the Raumklang label.
